CAERvest® is a chemically powered medical device designed to safely cool the core temperature when activated and applied to a patient’s chest. The product has been designed initially to provide immediate core body cooling to victims of cardiac arrest or heat stroke. Once activated, the temperature of the device is reduced by up to 25°C from ambient and remains effective for over an hour. To provide extended cooling, CAERvest® devices may be replaced periodically to reduce patient temperature to as low as 32°C (89.6°F).
CAERvest® is portable, lightweight, intuitive to use an requires no prior preparation. The device is single use only, preventing issues with cleaning and cross-contamination. There is no other product capable of producing prolonged effective human cooling anywhere it is needed.
